Around the office, Marilisa (she,her) can often be spotted barefoot, in jeans, with some variation of color in her hair. It is obvious when you first meet her that she has found her calling and is passionate about her practice. She is open to learning new things and seeking out alternative methods of increased healing for the sick and suffering. She has no fear in saying “I don’t know, but I will find out”. Marilisa specializes in long-term insight oriented therapy dealing with process addictions, personality disorders and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorders).
She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her practice as she has worked in the psychiatric and substance abuse treatment fields, both in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Marilisa Lawless is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice for more than 30 years. She is a Master Certified Addiction Professional and Clinical Hypnotherapist. She is also an Herbalist and trained in energy healing modalities. She is a long term to Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and South Florida Society for Trauma Based Disorders. She is also committed to change on a global level and is a member of the Human Rights Advocacy Committee, Southern Poverty Law Center, NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), UUSC (Unitariarn Universalist Service Committee), and United Farm Workers.
Her areas of personal interest include travel, the great outdoors, the beach, especially sunrises and sunsets, and a good book while listening to good music in the background. She is a devoted parent and grandparent. Having found her own personal peace, she is quite proficient at bringing that everywhere she goes.
