Our Mission
At the Transformation Project, we strive to provide mindful and integrative psychotherapy, moving through the past to be fully in the present and expanding the capacity for peace, joy, and balance.
Our work is founded on doing longer term, insight-oriented healing work, moving individuals "out of the trenches" of their pain and into the safety of a fuller life.
Our Story
The Transformation Project began in July 1991, with Marianne Lawless and her daughters, Melinda Lawless Coker and Marilisa Lawless. As a group, they decided that they wanted to create something together that would change people's lives for the better. While they had all started their journeys with different educational and career backgrounds, they ultimately all followed their passion and became Marriage and Family Therapists.
Now, more than 30 years later, The Transformation Project continues as a strong interdependent family owned, veteran owned, woman owned and operated business in downtown Davie, Florida. Throughout the years, they have stayed at the same location, serving the local community and making a positive difference in people's lives.
The Mayor dedicated October 7th as The Lawless Family Day for our commitment to the community as well.

Why Marriage and Family Therapists Can Make a Difference in Your Life
Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs) are mental health professionals trained in psychotherapy and family systems, as well as being licensed to diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders within the context of marriage, couples, and family systems.
Marriage and family therapists are a highly experienced group of practitioners, having over 30 years of clinical practice in the field of marriage and family therapy. They evaluate and treat mental and emotional disorders - other health and behavioral problems - and address a wide array of relationship issues within the context of the family system.
Marriage and Family Therapists broaden the traditional emphasis on the individual to attend to the nature and role of individuals in primary relationship networks such as marriage and the family. MFTs take a holistic perspective to health care; they are concerned with the overall, long-term well-being of individuals and their families.
